Textile Recycling

Clothes are thrown with general waste this is leading to accumulation of textile waste. Recycling of clothes can prevent reusable clothes from going into landfills.

Clothes are often overlooked when it comes to recycling, often because the technology present is not good enough to recycle the clothes and give the same sort of quality. But because of this these clothes are ending up in landfills where they take a very long time to degrade and get back into the soil. It means that while the process of their decomposition starts they are polluting the environment.

Often people are not aware about the fact that clothes can be recycled. The quantity of clothes manufactured is increasing but the facility to recycle is not. There are several ways in which old clothes can be recycled, the simplest being keep using the same clothes until it is not usable, others are mechanical recycling, chemical recycling and recycling using biotechnology.
